Oxford University School is an independent school created to provide an enriched educational alternative for young children without regard to sex, race, religion, or national origin. The school was founded in 1984 on a belief in children—their uniqueness today and their promise for tomorrow. Located at 200 OUS Drive, OUS has grown from a primary grade school to a school serving 2K (2 years old) through eighth grades. The completion of the new campus in early 2014 made it possible to expand the basic curriculum as well as to enhance the development of each student’s emotional, cultural, social, physical, and aesthetic potential. Through the school’s sound principles of education, teachers challenge students to become enthusiastic, lifelong learners.
In 2019, OUS joined the New Learning Resources School District and became accredited through the Mississippi Department of Education as a Non-public/Special Purpose School. The MS Dyslexia Center of Oxford moved their dyslexia therapist to the campus of OUS.
